Muskingum River

Muskingum (muhs-KING-guhm) River is formed in northeast Ohio, at Coshocton, by the union of the Walhonding and Tuscarawas rivers and flows south through Zanesville, then southeast to the Ohio River at Marietta. The Muskingum River system has extensive flood control projects. The canalized lower river is navigable. The upper river is a link between the Ohio River and the Erie Canal.
